Sickweather scans social networks for indicators of illness, allowing users to check for the chance of sickness. http://www.sickweather.com/ Database of Clinical Research Network (CRN) A database of all the portfolio research studies registered with UKCRN categorised by areas of medicine. Users can do keyword searches and find specific studies and read about them. The database will tell them at what stage the study is and what the inclusion/exclusion criteria are. Users can use the same interface to enquire about or join particular studies. Patient Did-Not-Attends (DNAs) Some Factors contributing to DNAs according to NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement: The two most commonly cited reasons are patients forgetting and clerical errors or communication failures which mean that the patient was unaware of the appointment. She is able to learn about her injury and her procedure using the in-patient app and the available images and research tools. The surgeon uses the in-patient app to review a variety of x-rays and MRIs with Mary, which help explain the scope of the injury. He also uses the annotation functions in the in-patient app to add comments to any of the patient images. Mary is able to request additional pain medications from her bed side, when necessary, using the inpatient app. She elects to submit feedback about her hospital stay using the in-patient app. Microsoft Manipal Hospital App This doctor's rounds app is used to plan their patient visits during medical rounds. It uses the hospital's patient information system to schedule visits. The medical rounds serve as an opportunity to evaluate patient status and administer treatment. The app provides a summarized view of the doctor’s daily rounds schedule. He can also search for patients by location. The patient record includes information on the patients vital statistics and other data acquired from the hospital patient information management system. Doctor’s visit can be interrupted by an alarm notification which provides immediate patient information and a link to the patient record. This app provides health visiting clients with easy access to important advice and key events in addition to location based information for local chemists and nearby A & E services. The app also allows the user to save important dates to a custom diary and save details about their Health Visitor contact. PatientPrompt From appointment reminders to population health notifications to post-procedure followup instructions, PatientPrompt delivers the right message to the right patient using email, voice and text. Swallow Prompt App The app has been designed to help people who have difficulty in managing their saliva, such as those with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis who have reduced sensation. The app can be set to either vibrate or beep (a wired or bluetooth headset is recommended) at a set interval. This prompts people to swallow prior to saliva spilling from their lips. Medi-Prompt - Medication Reminder and Log Medi-Prompt is an app for managing medication schedules and reminding the patients to take their medicine. You can leave feedback for every ward on every site and even get in touch with individual Trust Board members. The app will also enable you to scan relevant QR codes positioned throughout the Trust which will auto fill the form for you leaving just the comment to fill in and submit.
