Activity #2 You are preparing for bedside or teaching rounds. The patient being presented has one of the following medical issues that you want to discuss. Hyponatremia Tachyarrhythmias Acute kidney injury Acute coronary syndrome: diagnosis, management CHF: classification, management, Neurology topic (Bell’s palsy vs differential, medications central 7; weakness, muscle vs COPD management nerve issues) Differential of hypoxia Hyperkalemia Cirrhosis: management, Asthma differential H. Pylori: testing, prognosis, Acid-base disorders management Anemia/Thrombocytopenia Acute GI Bleeding: upper vs lower, Insulin: duration of action, types management Nephron: where diuretics act, or RTAs Don’t like any of the above? Pick your own topic! Utilize BaiBoard 3 (and any other) applications to illustrate your teaching pearls or scripts. Timeline for the Activity: 3-5 minutes: Choose one topic and jot down 2-3 teaching pearls 5 minutes: Create a draft whiteboard presentation Consider the following online resources: - Search Google or Bing Images for: landmark articles, algorithms, physical exam findings, physiologic pathways - Other apps – such as Hematology Outlines, drawMD series - Medscape - NCCN.org (National Comprehensive Cancer Network) - Guidelines (guidelines.gov) Other activities to try: App Smashing: open a drawMD app – open a diagram. Take a screenshot of the picture. Go back to BaiBoard and import the picture from the your album/camera roll for using within BaiBoard’s features . Create an Icon Library – import an image onto a board. Select the image – a blue menu will appear below the board.
