OBJECTIVES
 Analyze food webs to determine the roles, relationships, and
transfer of energy among organisms
 Compare and contrast the relationships among organisms,
including predation, parasitism, competition, commensalism,
and mutualism
 Explain and illustrate the relationships among decomposers,
producers and consumers, in the process of energy transfer in
an ecosystem including food webs
 Explain the pathway of energy transfer through producers, and
primary, secondary and tertiary level consumers
 Analyze various limiting factors in an ecosystem and their
impact on native populations
 Investigate and write to explain the factors that affect
population changes in an ecosystem (e.g., food, shelter,
water, space, disease, parasitism, predation, and nesting
sites)
