Scheduling of the generator must be initiated 1 week in advance.
Available only for reviewed/approved projects.
Operators must be qualified/trained.
You supply fuel – DIESEL FUEL ONLY!
Insurance – you must show proof that tow vehicle has insurance that
covers what is towed.
Make sure you get a copy of the manual to refer to.
Proper Vehicle
o 3000# tow rating
o 2” ball
o 4 pin flat trailer wiring harness
Hitching
o Swing away jack and stow handle so it doesn’t hit the ground
o Close locking lever and install lock/locking pin through hole in
lever
o Assure that the load is level, adjust tongue/hitch as necessary
o Connect and verify functionality of signal lights
o Verify that safety chains are connected and have enough slack
to allow for turns, but will not drag on the ground. Winding the
chains will take up slack.
Driving
o Allow additional stopping distance
o Take corners and bumps with care
o Practice backing up in an easy place like an empty parking lot
before you get into a tight spot
Parking
o Select an appropriate spot for cabling and that is minimally
intrusive for sound. Parking behind a van for example can quiet
the generator significantly
o Level the generator both side to side and front to back and chalk
the tires
o Unhitch, disconnect safety chains and wiring, and pull away
after verifying no connections still exist and that generator is
stable/will not roll away.
Connecting to power distribution – single phase
o Verify 60 amp 3 phase circuit breaker on rear panel is in the
OFF position
o Open side panels on right side of unit and switch/verify that
large rotator switch in upper panel is set to “1 phase 240/120V”
o Insert and twist cam-lok connectors in this order
 Green
 White
 Black/Red
 Blue is not used for single phase mode

Pre-Start check
o Check coolant level
o Check oil level
o Verify that there is enough fuel for your intended running time.
 At full load the unit will use about 1 ½ gallons per hour.
 NEVER let this unit (or any other diesel) run out of fuel.
o Recheck for level
o Verify that all breakers are turned off.
Start up Procedure
o Turn key to “ON” position
o Survey gauges on left side of panel for normal readings
o Once “preheat” light goes off (about 8 seconds) turn the key to
the start position, just like starting a car.
o Release the key once the unit has started, it should spring back
into the run position.
o Allow the unit to run for 5 minutes
 Check for smooth RPM
 Check for clear exhaust
 Check for normal operating temperature
 Check for normal oil pressure.
Before turning the main 3 – phase breaker on, make sure any lights
that have been connected are switched off.
Turn on the 3-phase breaker
o This will energize the power distribution box
o Each side of the box will have 60 amps of power
o Make sure to distribute you load evenly on the box (left to right)
o (once you’re powering stuff – not yet – you can use the gauges
to tell how many amps you are using from each leg of power)
Check voltage and adjust as necessary to get the desired reading
(240/120) by using the gauge and controls on the right side of the rear
panel.
You should be ready to use the unit now
Make sure to check the unit periodically for proper readings/operation.
Once you are finished, turn off main breaker and allow the unit to cool
down for five minutes
Power unit down
Disconnect cables in reverse order from connection
o Black/Red
o White
o Green
Hitch and remember to fuel unit before returning – gauge should be at
least as high as when you checked it out.
Make sure that the cam-lok pigtails have been tucked securely under
the panel/flap where they are installed.
Always keep the generator locked to the tow vehicle when unattended
and find a safe place to store the generator overnight.
