Adrienne Leiber Website EDU571 –COMBINED STORYBOARD AND SCRIPT The intent on this video is to walk my students through the rock cycle for a better understanding of how rocks can change. I have already finished filming and started the editing process. To complete this video I will be finishing up on the editing, and then working on an appropriate way to upload the video to my website. Script Storyboard Open curtain screen Cross Dissolve Transition into “By Adrienne Leiber” Intro. Background music “Playful” Background music continues Background music continues Cross Blur Transition into Title page “Let’s find out how rocks are formed!” Background music continues Page Curl Left Transition to Image of The Rock Cycle Background music continues The rock cycle is a group of changes. A cycle is a circle of events. Slide Right transition into the image of a circle. Text appears centered “A cycle is a circle of events.” Background music continues There are 3 types of rocks. Cross Blur Transition into image of circle previous text dissolves. Text appears as “There are 3 types of rocks.” Then dissovles. Background music changes to “Simple” Igneous Cross dissvolve transition into image with Igneous rock. “IGNEOUS” text appears lower left corner. Background music continues Sedimentary Doorway Transition into image showing both igbneous and sedimentary rocks. “SEDIMENTARY” text appears lower left corner. Background music continues The Rock Cycle Title page Metamorphic Doorway Transition into image with igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks showing. Background music continues “We begin with igneous rock. It forms when magma cools. Magma is a hot liquid made of melted minerals. On Earth’s surface wind and water can break rock into peieces. They can also carry it to other places. This is called weather and erosion. RippleTransition into background lava. Text appears centered, “Igneous forms when magma cools.” Background music continues Puzzle Left Transition into image showing magma cooling, igneous rock going through erosion and turning into sediment. Text appears crossing the page, “Wind and water break down the igneous to sediments.” Background music continues Erosion creates sediments. Sediments become cemented together over a period of time forming sedimentary rock All rock can be heated. The inside of Earth has heated created from pressure. This sort of heat bakes the rock. It doesn’t melt, but it does change into crystals. This change in the rocks makes it a metamorphic rock. The very same heat that created it can cause it to return to the magma state. Cross Zoom Transition into title page. Text, “Sediments become cemented together over a period of time forming sedimentary rock.” Background music continues Wipe Up Transition into image showing the sediments being compacted into sedimentary rock. Circle Open Transition into Title Page. Text reads, “All rock can be heated. The inside of Earth has heated created from pressure.” Background music continues Spin In Transition into the image of heat of pressure creating metamorphic rock. Circle Close Transition into Title page. Text says, “The very same heat that created it can cause it to return to the magma state.” Background music continues Background music continues Background music continues Wind, water, heat, and pressure Swap transition into images change the rocks from one type where the rock cycle is to another completed. Text reads, “ Wind, water, heat, and pressure change the rocks from one type to another.” This text is displayed over all of the images. This ensures that the cycle will Wipe Right Transition into the continue. completed rock cycle image. Thank you for watching! Cube Transition into final page. Text reads, “Thank you for watching!” Final transition is circle close transition.
