PRESS RELEASE *EMBARGOED until Tuesday 17 March 2015* The Courtyard unveils exciting new Page to Stage Season Courtyard Summer Season 2015 01432 340555 Amazing adaptations, new writing and fantastic film make up The Courtyard’s exciting new Page to Stage season this summer. Highlighting the season will be a week long run of the critically acclaimed stage production of Birdsong (Mon 8 – Sat 13 June), based on the novel by Sebastian Faulks and marking the 100th anniversary of the First World War with a mesmerising story of love and courage. Other adaptations include Blue Orange Theatre Company’s production of Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre (Thu 7 May), an immortal tale of a young woman’s courageous fight through injustice and hardship, and Dietrich Letters (Sat 6 June), a celebration of the life and music of Marlene Dietrich, featuring various archive material, personal objects and letters from the Marlene Dietrich estate. The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School also present Beaux Strategum (Tue 19 May), a story of rakes, lovers, desperate housewives, herbal healers and horse thieves. The Courtyard will also showcase brand new work as part of the Write On Festival (Wed 1 – Sat 4 July), a celebration of talented local writers, actors and directors from across Herefordshire and bordering counties, giving them the opportunity to put their work on stage. The corresponding Script to Screen film season is full of thrillers too, including the critically acclaimed 12 Years a Slave (Sat 23 & Wed 27 May), alongside classics such as Charlotte’s Web (Sat 23 May) and Atonement (Mon 1 - Thu 4 June) and the more recent The Book Thief (Tue 9 & Wed 10 June), American Sniper (Fri 12 & Sat 13 June) and Life of Pi (Sat 13 & Wed 17 June).
