PRESS RELEASE
The Tap Dancing Mermaid
Presented by Tessa Bide
Saturday 13 February, 11am
Tickets £6

The Moon has got a story to tell about a tippetty-top tap dancer and audiences
can hear it at The Courtyard on Saturday 13 February.
Marina Skippett creeps out at night to tap dance on the boardwalk to the sounds of
the sea. She can’t tap dance at home anymore since her evil, tractor-sized Aunty
banned it, threatening to feed Marina’s dinners to the dog! But then, one magical
night, Marina meets a mysterious watery boy swimming alone and her life is never
the same again!
Marina, The Moon and a bunch of beautiful, hand-crafted mer-puppets are
swimming their way to The Courtyard to star in The Tap Dancing Mermaid, an
innovative and exciting new one-woman show written and performed by Tessa Bide.
Featuring stunning puppets, original live music and tap dancing that will make
audiences want to get up and join in!
The Tap Dancing Mermaid is part of Courtyard Family Saturdays, offering weekly
activities every Saturday from 10.30am! There will be a pre-show workshop from
10.30am which is free to those attending this show.
The Tap Dancing Mermaid will be in The Courtyard’s Studio Theatre on Saturday 13
February at 11am. To book tickets, or for more information contact the Box Office
on 01432 340555 or visit www.courtyard.org.uk.
