Hyo Picasso Astrology Astrology uses, the study of patterns and relationships, the study of planets in motion, our birth chart, synastry with others and the make-up of elements, to find meaning of Life. Can the day and month of when you were born explain a person’s personality? Can it define a person’s character? Can astrology really provide a deeper understanding of all our relationships with bosses, siblings, parents, children, friends and partners? Can it really tell you who you are compatible with? Life of a person cannot simply be defined. People tend to have a misconception of life and try to lean towards information that are easily available to find answers to their questions. Astrology seems to be one of the theories of life that is provided for people and is believed to be able to predict one’s future, for example, astrology predicts that a person born just after the spring equinox is more likely to become an entrepreneur. Astrology is believed to be able to provide a path of life. Astrology is the study of that which is beyond the physical. Astrology is similar to acupuncture, yoga and feng shui. According to a study conducted at Berkeley University, astrology uses scientific knowledge about heavenly bodies, as well as sounding tools, like star charts. Astrology is used to generate expectations of the future and people’s personalities. Some people claim that astrology is supported by evidence. Astrology focuses on the natural world and aims to explain the natural world. The sun, moon, planets, and constellations have influence or are correlated with earthly events. Astrology uses a set of rules about the relative positions and movements of the Earth to predict and explain events on Earth and human personality traits. Astrology relies on evidence. In few cases, astrology has been used to create testable expectations and the results were examined in a careful study, the evidence did not support the validity of astrological ideas. Does astrology use testable ideas? In order for astrology to be testable, astrology generate very specific expectations that could be verified against outcomes in the natural world. Astrology involves the scientific community. Sharing one’s findings and thoroughly evaluating the results of others are not integral parts of practicing astrology. An astrologer can go his entire career and not introduce findings at a scientific meeting or publish a single article. When astrologers do publish, the articles are normally not peer-reviewed or published in places where they will be criticized by the scientific community. Astrology is stated to even predict and diagnose various health conditions and/or problems of people according to the month they were born. For example, astrologers have stated that February birthdays are more likely to have schizophrenia, winter and early spring birthdays are found to have a bipolar disorder, April and June birthdays appear to have the strongest suicidality and mental illness, and babies born in the summer have higher chances of having dyslexia. Could this be true? Or could this be a coincidence of the time of year people are born and the various effects of weather, temperature, diet, activity level, pollen in the air, school attendance, etc? There have been many scientific research studies and not one has been successful. Such studies that have been said to be “true,” they are scientific research studies that have not been conducted properly. There may have been studies that have been randomly chosen, but not from different parts of the world, there may have been studies that did not have enough information to support the data, and there may have been studies, but did not have a control. Astrology, in my opinion, is another form of quackery for scientists, who call themselves “Astrologers” to make money. Sure, it is a great theory that can help people temporarily, but astrology is inaccurate information that can also have a negative effect on people.
