My assigned god _____________________________
There are a multitude of gods explained in Greek mythology. Your assignment will be to research one god and
then present your information to the class.
Step One: Research
After you find out which god you are assigned to, you can begin doing some research on the god. When you do
your research, this is what you should find out:
What is the Greek and Latin name of your god?
What is your god’s symbol?
What was your god described as looking like?
What was your god’s slogan, or epithet?
What is the personality and behavior of your god?
In addition, find out THREE interesting facts about your god’s story: how he/she came to exist, who he/she
married, who were her/his enemies, etc.
Some places that you can find this information:
Media Center
About.com; just put your god’s name in the search engine
Google.com
Step Two: Assembly
After you have collected your information, you must display your information in an interesting way on a
posterboard. Your posterboard must contain the answers to all of the questions you researched:
The Greek and Roman name of your god
The god’s symbol
A picture of your god, either hand-drawn or a quality picture from a magazine, internet, etc.
The god’s slogan, or epithet
A general description of the personality of your god
THREE interesting facts about your god (family members, interesting story, enemies, etc.)
Step Three: Assessment
When I grade your posterboard, I will look at the following things:
Neatness of presentation
Accuracy of information
All needed information is present
