God Research Project Zeus, Poseidon, Apollo, Hermes, Ares, Hephaestus, Hera, Demeter, Artemis, Athena, Aphrodite, Hestia, Dionysus, Hades Due date _____________________________ My assigned god _____________________________ There are a multitude of gods explained in Greek mythology. Your assignment will be to research one god and then present your information to the class. Step One: Research After you find out which god you are assigned to, you can begin doing some research on the god. When you do your research, this is what you should find out: What is the Greek and Latin name of your god? What is your god’s symbol? What was your god described as looking like? What was your god’s slogan, or epithet? What is the personality and behavior of your god? In addition, find out THREE interesting facts about your god’s story: how he/she came to exist, who he/she married, who were her/his enemies, etc. Some places that you can find this information: Media Center About.com; just put your god’s name in the search engine Google.com Step Two: Assembly After you have collected your information, you must display your information in an interesting way on a posterboard. Your posterboard must contain the answers to all of the questions you researched: The Greek and Roman name of your god The god’s symbol A picture of your god, either hand-drawn or a quality picture from a magazine, internet, etc. The god’s slogan, or epithet A general description of the personality of your god THREE interesting facts about your god (family members, interesting story, enemies, etc.) Step Three: Assessment When I grade your posterboard, I will look at the following things: Neatness of presentation Accuracy of information All needed information is present
