Parthenon- opened to the public the moment it was finished; formally dedicated to the Goddess during
the Panathenaic Games of 438 B.C.E.; Classical Parthenon was damaged by fire, but repaired later;
Parthenon was converted to a Christian church ca. 600 C.E., with a mosque added as well.
Temple of Athena- constructed by Callicrates in 427 B.C.E.; bearing masonry, cut stone; beside the
gateway to the Acropolis.
Erecitheon- constructed by Mnesicles in 405 B.C.E.; bearing masonry, cut stone; Caryatid Porch with
figural columns; on Acropolis; uses grade change.
