Equilibrium Radionuclide Angiography (ERNA)
PROCEDURE: The patient received of 25.2 mCi Tc99m labeled red blood cells using an in vitro
labeling technique with Ultratag®. Planar images of the left ventricle were obtained in the LAO
45, Lt Lateral and anterior projections.
FINDINGS: The overall quality of the study was good. The left ventricle ejection fraction was
computed at 31%. (Normal values = >50%.) There was moderate to marked dilatation of the LV
chamber with inferior and apical akinesia and moderate lateral wall hypokinesia.
The right ventricle and atria appear to be normal in size.
IMPRESSION:
Abnormal ERNA study demonstrating:
1. Moderately decreased LVEF of 31%
2. Moderate to marked dilatation of the left ventricular chamber
3. Inferior and apical wall akinesia with moderate lateral wall hypokinesia.
