Group name: Center for Pharmacogenomics
The OSU College of Medicine Center for Pharmacogenomics focuses on the discovery of
genetic variants that serve as biomarkers guiding successful drug therapy in individual patients.
The Center has developed new approaches for the discovery of genetic variants, with focus on
gene regulation, including innovative genome-scale technologies such as massively-parallel
sequencing and large-scale data integration (Genomics Core Laboratory and Bioinformatics and
Statistics Core). A mathematical biology modeling group exploits large databases (ENCODE,
GWAS, GTEx, and more) to define gene/RNA/protein networks relevant to disease risk and
therapy for the design of biomarker panels, and subsequent testing of clinical utility in guiding
individualized therapies.
