Create a Website Lesson 1 – Part 3 Domain Names Domain names are used to identify one or more IP addresses (213.175.211.12). For example, the domain name niu.com.mt represents that IP address. For example, the domain name www.example.com might translate to 198.105.232.4. 3 Domain Name Registrar A domain name registrar is an organization or commercial entity, accredited by a generic top-level domain registry (gTLD) and/or by a country code top-level domain (ccTLD) registry, to manage the reservation of Internet domain names in accordance with the guidelines of the designated domain name registries and offer such services to the public. Typically, a CMS consists of two elements: the content management application (CMA) and the content delivery application (CDA). The CMA element allows the content manager or author, who may not know Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), to manage the creation, modification, and removal of content from a Web site without needing the expertise of a Webmaster. 9 Content Management System – CMS (2) The CDA element uses and compiles that information to update the Web site. The features of a CMS system vary, but most include Web-based publishing, format management, revision control, and indexing, search, and retrieval. 10 WordPress A very popular open source blog publishing program that is installed on the user's Web server.
