 Roman
religion was a blending of Latin,
Greek and Etruscan influences.
 They adopted a pantheon of deities, six
gods and six goddesses who directed the
affairs of the world with their
superhuman powers.
 Some had close associations with the
Greek Olympians, though many also
shared characteristics with early Latin
and Etruscan deities.
 Many
planets in our solar system were
named after Roman gods.
 Other names have become part of our
language in another form.

household spirits.
