Living with Metastatic Breast Cancer
General Audience Summary:
In Brazil, breast cancer is the one with the highest incidence in women and since it is estimated that 50% of
new cases of cancer are diagnosed in an advanced stage, there are many patients dealing with the
challenges of living with metastatic breast cancer all over the country. This project aims to empower women
living with metastatic breast cancer by offering them peer support through a national network coordinated by
Oncoguia. Specific education and support materials will be developed so this network can disseminate quality
information, guide patients and identify the main barriers that would require advocacy initiatives for better
access to patients' rights.
