team! The BC Cancer Agency (BCCA) is seeking a General Practitioner in
Medical Oncology at the Nanaimo Regional Cancer Centre.
The BC Cancer Agency (BCCA) is committed to reducing the incidence of cancer, reducing
the mortality from cancer, and improving the quality of life of those living with cancer. BC
Cancer Agency provides a comprehensive cancer control program for the people of British
Columbia in partnership with regional health authorities to deliver a range of cancer services,
which include prevention, screening and early detection, diagnosis and treatment, research,
education, supportive care, rehabilitation and palliative care. It operates six regional cancer
centres in Surrey, Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria, Abbotsford and Prince George, along with
two research centres that conduct research into the causes and cures for cancer.
The BCCA is an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), which plans,
manages and evaluates selected specialty and province-wide health care services across BC.

General Practitioner in Medical Oncology
BCCA, Nanaimo Cancer Clinic, Nanaimo, BC
Full time 1.0 FTE Opportunity Available
Working with 2 other GP oncologists at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Cancer
Clinic, you will participate exclusively in the care of Oncology patients, in conjunction with a
team of Medical Oncologists based at the BCCA, Vancouver Island Centre in Victoria.
Ours is a unique model that sees you, as a member of an interdisciplinary cancer care team,
actively involved in the clinical assessment and management of cancer patients, primarily
in the ambulatory care setting. Responsibilities include assessment and management of
outpatients receiving systemic therapy.
You will have the advantage of a regular daytime schedule, with no weekend or on-call
shifts. Not only do our locations foster your personal goals, each diverse environment will

Successful candidates will be Licentiates of the Medical Council of Canada, and hold a BC
Medical License and current certificate with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of BC. You
must be able to obtain active staff privileges at the Vancouver Island Cancer Centre’s host
hospitals, meeting the requirements as defined by the Professional Advisory of the BCCA.
