Two MEDICAL PHYSICS RESIDENCY Positions Available
BC Cancer Agency – Kelowna and Abbotsford, BC
The BC Cancer Agency (BCCA) is currently inviting applications for two Medical Physics
Residency positions in the CAMPEP accredited BCCA Medical Physics Residency Program. The
program is a two year clinical training program covering all aspects of radiation oncology physics
including dosimetry, quality assurance, external beam treatment planning, brachytherapy and
radiation safety.
The BCCA is committed to reducing the incidence of cancer, reducing the mortality from cancer,
and improving the quality of life of those living with cancer. It provides a comprehensive cancer
control program for the people of British Columbia by working with community partners to
deliver a range of cancer services, including prevention, early detection, diagnosis and
treatment, research, education, supportive care, rehabilitation and palliative care. It operates
six regional cancer centres in the Fraser Valley, Kelowna, Vancouver, Vancouver Island,
Abbotsford and Prince George. The BC Cancer Research Centre conducts research into the
causes and cures for cancer.
One Medical Physics Residency position is available at the Centre for the Southern Interior
(Kelowna) and one at the Abbotsford Centre (Abbotsford). Both positions commence July 2,
2015. Candidates should indicate for which position(s) they are applying. A Master of Science
in Medical Physics or a Doctoral degree (preferred) in Medical Physics or a related subject is
required; graduation from a CAMPEP accredited graduate program (or certificate program) is
preferred. There is an expectation to adhere to the professional code of ethics developed by the
Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM) and highly developed team work and
interpersonal skills are required. In accordance with Canadian Employment and Immigration
requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada;
however, all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

statement of interest, a CV, two letters of reference and a copy of official university
graduate transcripts.
