SQL SERVER & INTELLIGENT QUOTE We have put together information to assist you in utilizing SQL Server as your iQ database. We assume that you have the ability to install and configure SQL Server and copy and backup files and databases. Software Requirements: The vendor supported versions of SQL Server are: SQL Server 2005 or later SQL Server Express 2005 or later If you plan on using SQL Server Express, we recommend that you use 2008 as its import\export functionality works better than the 2005 version. Scenarios: Below are steps to follow based on the scenario that best matches your environment. Scenario #1 – This is a new installation and you would like to start out using SQL Server. We assume you do not currently have SQL Server installed and you would want the free version. • • • • Install SQL Server Express 2008 (database engine and the management studio). The management studio contains the Import\Export functionality which you need to have. Verify that SQL Server is running by starting SQL Server Management Studio and connecting to the server. (click on Start then Programs then Microsoft SQL Server 2008 the SQL Server Management Studio) Create the iQ database in SQL Server by executing the SQL found in Andersen_SQL_Create_Script.sql Follow the instructions in the Modify Connect String for SQL Server.doc Scenario #2 – You have an existing iQ installation using the default database and you only have one database to migrate.
