課程概要與目標:This course is an advanced study of non-relational data models, the internals of a
database management system, and database frontiers. This course will help students to achieve the
following objectives.
1. Learn new ways to model data.
2. Learn and implement a DBMS.
3. Become familiar with the expanding role of database technology.

This course will help students not only to achieve the following objectives:
1. Learn new ways to model data.
2. Learn and implement a DBMS.
3. Become familiar with the expanding role of database technology.
but also:
4. Home works, midterm exam, final exam and final project are required.
5. Reading material will consist primarily of research papers. All students will have to present a
research paper of their choice, either from the instructor or other papers subject to the instructor
approval.
6. Anyone who does an exceptional course project that has the potential to be a publishable paper is
eligible for a straight A grade in my class.
