In this section and the next, methods for finding unknown quantities in non right-angled triangles are discussed. The sine rule is used to find unknown quantities in a triangle when one of the following situations arises: one side and two angles are given two sides and a non-included angle are given In the first of the two cases a unique triangle is defined, but for the second it is possible for two triangles to exist.
