The Heart of the South West* LEP will have €118.3m for its
European SIF Strategy. This includes €73m for Devon,
Plymouth and Torbay. It is anticipated that the new

There will be opportunities to apply for funding for projects in
Devon through five different INTERREG programmes. Each
programme has a slightly different emphasis and covers a
different geographical area.
Operational Programmes for each area are currently being
drawn up and consulted on, ready to start in mid 2014.

The Connecting Europe Facility has a total budget of €30bn
for: Energy; Transport; Digital. The majority of the funding
(€26bn) is for pre-identified strategic transport projects (none
in Devon).

LIFE+ will have a budget of €3.4bn. There will be a focus on

The new RDP will begin in January 2015 – one year late –
resulting from delays in agreeing the next Common
Agricultural Policy.
There will be a one-year transition programme in 2014.

The UK will be allocated a share of the overall budget, based
on the size of its fishing industry. There will need to be a UK
Operational Programme for the EMFF, setting out how the
funds will be spent. Once the OP is approved by the
European Commission, decisions on which projects to fund
will be made within the UK.

European Social Fund (ESF)
ESF is one of the European Structural & Investment Funds. ESF will be channelled through the Heart of the South
West LEP EU SIF Strategy (see above)

Health for Growth will have a budget of €449 million.
