Direct connections increase exponentially during the spring/summer seasons. o Largest passenger port in Europe and second largest in the world 7 Megaro Mousikis “Palace of Music” History Megaro Mousikis (the Athens concert Hall) is a concert hall located in Athens, on Vassilis Sofias Avenue. The Athens Concert Hall was inaugurated in 1991 with two halls and now it has been augmented to four. The inspiration behind the creation of this major cultural centre was the great singer Alexandra Trianti, the founder of the Friends of Music Association. The Association commissioned designs for the Concert Hall from top Greek and foreign architects, and specialists in acoustics. Present • Megaro Mousikis now provides four major halls. It has optimal facilities for opera performances, and some operas are presented every season. • The Hall offers a comprehensive range of facilities for all sorts of cultural activities, artistic and educational, designed to the very highest specifications. Megaro Mousikis concert Hall is considered one of the most sophisticated multicultural centres of its kind anywhere in the world. All venues are equipped with security and usher services, audiovisual equipment, and facilities for simultaneous translation and catering for receptions. • 12 conference rooms are provided accommodating from 20 to 180 persons, with all the contemporary equipment to host the most complex of meetings. • A three-level underground parking facility is available with spaces for 750 cars, and a total surface area of 32,000 square metres. Equipped with state-of-the-art entry-exit systems it is open every day and available for all, regardless of which events are being staged. • A valuable green space in the heart of the city is landscaped behind the Concert Hall, providing a venue for a variety of educational, cultural and environmental activities. • Bar and restaurants.
