Job Description
Rodan + Fields is currently seeking an Business Intelligence Systems Analyst to help support a wide range
of business intelligence programs/projects initiatives designed to support R+F analytics and business
strategies.
In this position you will work as part of the Corporate Analytics and Intelligence team and it’s
stakeholders to define and implement Business Intelligence and Reporting solution specifications. You
will be a liaison between business groups, internal management and external vendors to streamline and
improve the informational and analytical needs of the company. You love digging into data, business
process and documenting your findings in clear and consistent format. This is a technical and business
focused position in which you will balance your time between business requirements analysis, technical
documentation as well as supporting the solution development and programming by the BI engineering
team.
In addition, you understand and thrive on systems analysis, problem solving, and are able to articulate
solutions that bridge the gap between business and technology. In this position you will perform
research and data analysis of RF business process data that will be modeled for reporting and analyitcs
in the RF BI ecosystem. You are also resourceful and have the ability to work autonomously and under
pressure to meet established deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities



Partner with business groups to gather, refine and document business requirements in
BI/Datawarehouse Environments.
Analyze, design and develop solutions to Business Intelligence solutions, including system
architecture, design and development of analytic/reporting solutions
Understand complex business challenges & translate them into requirements/solutions.












Document functional/technical/test specifications
Support data governance framework by defining data dictionaries, metadata, business rules and
report catalogs
Maintain quality control, quality assurance and auditing of the enterprise solutions to ensure
the accuracy and quality of data
Perform administration, change management and production support tasks of the business
intelligence infrastructure, data repositiories and reporting content.
Work with cross functional teams to determine test coverage, develop and execute test plans
and test cases, identify, document, and verify software defects.
Consistently create insightful reports that effectively synthesize and interpret data to present an
accurate and clearly communicated story and recommendations .
Provide information, reports and audits as requested to Finance, IT, Commissions & Sales.
Perform Data profiling, mining and analysis supporting all business functions as needed.
Perform quantitative analysis leveraging multiple and varied external and internal data sources,
including sales, revenues, behavioral, industry, competitive, consumer, and unstructured data
Analyze, synthesize, and interpret data from a variety of data sources, investigating, reconciling
and explaining data differences to provide a complete picture
Build, manage, evaluate, and improve various re-occurring and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and
analytics for various stakeholders
Mix of job responsibilities may vary with departmental needs and functions.
Required Skills:










3-5 years experience in a Business Intelligence/DataWarehouse analyst/developer role
2-3 years development experience with at least one of the following BI technologies: BIRST,
Cognos, Microsoft SSRS, Microstrategy, Business Objects, Tableau, Qlikview
Practical understanding of OLAP and Enterprise Data Warehousing methodologies and concepts,
including star, snowflake data models and have implemented BI on top of them
Experience extracting and manipulating data from relational databases with advanced SQL,
stored procedures, ETL tools or other data manipulation language. Ability to grasp and quickly
acquire new programming concepts and syntax/languages required
Minimum of 5 years experience developing enterprise SQL databases, business intelligence
dashboards and reporting solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical
concepts in business terms and complex business concepts in technical terms
Self motivated and independent, able to work with a minimum of supervision, and able to work
well with stakeholders and project staff
Extensive experience in building enterprise conceptual and logical data models, data profiling,
data modeling, data mapping and metadata efforts and data quality initiatives.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task across numerous work streams.
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize technical work and deliverables. Able to lead teams
to consensus decisions on complex business and technical data challenges.








Deep knowledge of best practices through relevant experience across data-related disciplines
and technologies particularly for enterprise wide data architectures and data warehousing/BI.
Exceptional quantitative analytical and problem solving skills
Must have outstanding attention to detail
Must be able to explore and resolve data issues, to reconcile disparate data to mine and
communicate not only data but insights
Advanced proficiency with SQL
Experience with Big Data architectures and platforms preferred
Strong quantitative proficiency
1-2 years Direct Sales/Multi Level Marketing Industry experience strongly preferred
