Position Title: Position Type: Location: Direct Supervisor: Business Analyst Full Time, Exempt Mendota Heights, Minnesota General Manager POSITION OVERVIEW: The Business Analyst will be responsible for the collecting, compiling and analyzing large data sets. They will create reports, conduct quantitative analysis and provide support for Procurement, Category Management, Inventory, Logistics and Finance departments. Additionally, they will collaborate with internal departments, customers and suppliers to help achieve financial and operational goals. Specific tasks to include: Collect, standardize, validate, analyze and report data from divergent sources in different formats Collaborate with supplier partners to gather/maintain accurate item level detail for various product lines Research and create baselines for current and potential suppliers that will help facilitate strategic supplier partnerships & category line reviews Participate in the development/maintenance of pricing programs by conducting research, data mining and statistical analysis Conduct and present analysis to support costing & pricing for sourcing team Support functional departments (i.e. purchasing, inventory, supply chain and finance) on sales forecasting & budgeting Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting when needed Build and maintain complex data structures that organize data, perform analysis, and create reports Simplify and translate complex data into clear, concise information that is understandable to non-technical audience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university Minimum three (3) years of experience in data analysis Minimum of five (5) years preferably in a wholesale/retail environment working in inventory planning, category management and/or supply chain Proficient in MS Office applications Excel, Access, Word & PowerPoint Advanced technical skills with data analysis tools such as MS Excel, Access, SQL and other relational databases Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail Possess the inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills needed to interact with people at all levels of the organization DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Ability to work in a cross functional team environment Able to multi-task while remain detail oriented Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables and VLookups) Coordinate and manage many requests for data analysis and reporting of varying size and scope Able to capture and document business processes and reporting requirements Self-directed associate who has the ability to drive results as well as take balanced risks and make decisions Able to multi-task and define long and short-term objectives and establish priorities Understands the complexities of different cost structures and continuously look for opportunities to improve processes Ability to offer opinions and support senior management and business leaders Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS: Generally the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean environment. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping and significant fine finger dexterity.
