King Tut’s Tomb by: Kelsey Drummond King Tut’s Tomb Location: Valley of the Kings What is inside the Valley of the Kings? • There are over 60 tombs in the Valley of the Kings. • The tombs are different sizes some are very large while others are small enough just to fit the tomb in it. • There are also over 100 underground chambers. • Thieves stole Pharaohs treasures throughout the years. • There is artwork on the walls that help archeologists to learn about the lives of the Pharaohs and other leaders who were buried here. • The one tomb that was discovered with much of the treasure and tomb still intact was that of Tutankhamun who is known as King Tut Who was King Tut? • • • • • Occupation: Pharaoh of Egypt Born: 1341 BC Died: 1323 BC age 19 Reign: 1332 BC to 1323 BC Tutankhamun was born a prince in Egypt's royal court. His father was the Pharaoh Akhenaten. Tutankhamun's birth name was Tutankhaten, which he changed after his father died. • Archeologists aren't sure what killed him. But think he had a leg infection.
