King Tut’s Tomb Location: Valley of the Kings
What is inside the Valley of the Kings?
• There are over 60 tombs in the Valley of the Kings.
• The tombs are different sizes some are very large while others
are small enough just to fit the tomb in it.
• There are also over 100 underground chambers.
• Thieves stole Pharaohs treasures throughout the years.
• There is artwork on the walls that help archeologists to learn
about the lives of the Pharaohs and other leaders who were
buried here.
• The one tomb that was discovered with much of the treasure
and tomb still intact was that of Tutankhamun who is known
as King Tut
Who was King Tut?

Born: 1341 BC
Died: 1323 BC age 19
Reign: 1332 BC to 1323 BC
Tutankhamun was born a prince in Egypt's royal court. His father was the Pharaoh
Akhenaten. Tutankhamun's birth name was Tutankhaten, which he changed after his father
died.
• Archeologists aren't sure what killed him. But think he had a leg infection.

Black color - represented death and the night
•
Red color - represented life and victory. It was also used to convey anger
•
Yellow color - represent gold and therefore used to convey that the subject was imperishable
and indestructible.

Blue color - represented water, the sky, life, fertility and re-birth
•
Green color - the color of vegetation and represented new life
•
White color - represented purity, power and greatness, a sacred color
