Course Syllabus Course: NSG104 BODY STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION 4 credit hours Online Prerequisite: Admission to Practical Nursing Program Faculty: Charla Hollin, R.N. Office Hours: Monday – 9:00am – 12:00pm Tuesday – 9:00am – 10:00am Wednesday & Thursday- 9:00am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm – 3:00pm or by appointment. Required Textbook: None. May use Adult Health Nursing by Christensen as reference. Course Description: This course focuses on the anatomy and physiology of the human body in all its systems. Exams will be given on campus every Wednesday at 8:00am. Course Requirements: Each week you will view the PowerPoint presentation and Diagrams. The weekly assignment will be posted on Wednesday morning by 8:00am. Weekly exams will be given on campus consisting of information presented by the online learning system. A missed exam must be made up by appointment with the instructor within 2 days of the exam. 10 points will be deducted from exams taken late. Grading and Evaluation: 15 Exams Grading scale is as follows: A = 94 - 100 % B = 87 - 93 % C = 80 - 86 % D = 70 - 79 % Attendance Requirements: Attendance requirements are met when all weekly assignments have been viewed and exam has been taken. If all assignments are not viewed, you will be considered absent and the absentee policies outlined in the Practical Nursing Student Handbook will apply.
