Aligo MAX_HOST installation Aligo MAX_HOST provides an environment of wrappers COM objects so as to enable remote system access to Microsoft Exchange services. These wrappers are implemented in Java. MAX_HOST is designed to be rolled out on a separate W2K server. The following is required to support a MAX_HOST machine for Aligo: Windows 2000 Server, SP3 or later 2 GHz Pentium, 1 GB RAM Microsoft Outlook 2000 with CDO (Collaboration Data Objects http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/0600/cdo/default.aspx) installed JDK 1.3.x. Step 1 – Configure a MAX_HOST VM Platform setup: Copy the “Gold - Windows 2000 Server” virtual machine and rename it “W2K S Aligo MAX_HOST 0001”. Configure the server as follows: IP address: 10.2.2.90 Domain: dotnet.isdintegration.com Workgroup -na- Will be asked for a valid domain identity in order to join the domain. Use the domain identity of “Administrator”, which has the password of “SunONE”. Step 2 - Perform pre-installation setup (The following instructions are performed on the MAX_HOST server) Install Winzip. Install JDK 1.3.x: Java 2 Software Development Kit, Standard Edition (J2SETM SDK), formerly known as the Java Development Kit (JDKTM). (See: http://servlet.java.sun.com/help/download) Fetch from http://java.sun.com/j2se/ File fetched is j2sdk-1_3_1_07-windows-i586.exe Launch file to begin installation: JDK is installed into C:\jdk1.3.1_07 Select Microsoft Internet Explorer as the default browser: Install all components of the JDK. Not all may actually be required. It is left as a future exercise to determine exactly what is needed and what is not required. The JDK installation concludes. Step 3 - Install Aligo MAX_HOST **** SKIP THIS SECTION – THIS IS DONE LATER **** (The following instructions are performed on the MAX_HOST server) These instructions assume that the folder “Aligo Max” is found on the desktop of the Administrator’s desktop. Expand the MAX1.1.zip archive by double-clicking on it. WinZip is launched. Select to extract all files from the archive: Create temporary directory “tmp” within the “Aligo Max” directory <Actions><Select All> <Actions><Extract> Direct all extracted files to be deposited into the <desktop<\Aligo Max\tmp directory. Launch the MAX_HOST install by double-clicking on: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Aligo Max\tmp\MAX1.1\max1.1.4 Select to install the Aligo M-1 Mobile Access (MAX). Enter the installation and license keys: 30-day, 50-user evaluation license: Installation: MAR7LC82SUY License: MNVA3YUFP3PP8C Select the JVM to use. Note: Must be version 1.3 or later. Will be offered “Direct Access” or “Web Server Access”. Direct Access handles HTTP requests from mobile devices. Web Server Access uses a web server to do it. Select Direct Access. The default hostname of the web service is “Localhost”. Change to “w2ksmaxhost”. Aligo M-1 Mobile Access will now install. No reboot is required when the MAX_HOST software installation has completed. Step 4 – Create a MAXHost account in Exchange 2000 (The following instructions are performed on the Exchange 2000 server) Log on to the Exchange 2000 server as the administrator. Launch the “Active Directory Users and Computers” utility: <Start><Programs><Microsoft Exchange><Active Directory Users and Computers> Create a user account for MAXHost. Set the password to “MAXHost”, and that it will never expire. Account will show up as having been successfully created. Right-click MAXHost and select refresh to update the Active Directory. Add MAXHost to the group “Exchange Domain Servers”: <Right-click: <MAXHost>><Select: <Add members to a group…>> <Select: <Exchange Domain Servers>><OK> Membership will show up in the user’s properties. Step 3 - Install Aligo MAX_HOST (Try # 2) (The following instructions are performed on the MAX_HOST server) Add local administrative privileges to user MAXHost: Log in as user administrator (password SunONE). <Start><Programs><Administrative Tools><Computer Management> <Select: <Local Users and Groups>><Select: <Groups>> <Double-click: <Administrators>> <Add> Select to look in the dotnet.isdintegration.com domain. Select the User ID “MAXHost to add to the administration group for the server. Then click <Add> Note that MAXHost is now an administrator of the system. Log off as user administrator. Log in as user MAXHost (password MAXHost). The Domain is “dotnet”. Install Winzip. Install JDK 1.3.x: Java 2 Software Development Kit, Standard Edition (J2SETM SDK), formerly known as the Java Development Kit (JDKTM). Add local administrative privileges to user MAXHost: Login as the administrator of the domain (dotnet.isdintegration.com). Use the Computer Management utility: <Start><Programs><Administrative Tools><Computer Management> Add user MAXHost to the list of platform administrators: <Select: <Local Users and Groups>><Select: <Groups>> <Double-click: <Administrators>> <Add> <Select domain (“Look in:”): <dotnet.isdintegration.com>> <Select: <MAXHost>> <Add> Login as user MAXHost.
