For Courses formerly in the Department of Computer Science OLD RULES OF ASSESSMENT FOR 3-YEAR HONOURS DEGREE COURSES 2008-09 These rules take effect for students repeating the FINAL year in October 2008, or returning to the final year after intermitting in 07/08. SINGLE HONOURS SCHEMES In order to achieve programme outcomes and be eligible for the award of a degree, students will be required to achieve: (a) an overall weighted degree mark of 40% or more across all the modules taken, and (b) a final aggregate mark of 40% or more in designated modules for the degree courses as listed in Table 3. If a student failed to meet the requirements for the award of a degree on one of the following endorsed courses: Computer Science (Software Engineering) Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) Computer Science (Embedded Systems and Robotics) Computer Science (Internet Technology) but had satisfied the criteria for the BSc Computer Science degree (G400), he or she would be eligible for the award of BSc Computer Science. JOINT DEGREE SCHEMES In order to achieve programme outcomes and be eligible for the award of a degree, students will be required to achieve: (a) an overall weighted degree mark of 40% or more across all the modules taken, and (b) a final aggregate mark in designated modules for the degree course, as listed in Table 4. WEIGHTING OF SECOND AND FINAL YEARS The second year will contribute 40%, and the final year will contribute 60% towards the overall assessment for the degree.
