
Our topic is about how the NFL contributes to
breast cancer awareness.

It is important 1 out of 4 women have it, and
there is no cure for this horrible disease. Also, it
shows how much the NFL cares and donates to
finding a cure. In 2011, an estimated 230,480
new cases of invasive breast cancer were
expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S.,
along with 57,650 new cases of non-invasive
breast cancer.
The NFl does many things To support breast
cancer. They use Game balls with pink ribbon
decals for every down.
The players wear pink cleats, wristbands, gloves,
chin straps, sideline caps, helmet decals, eye
shield decals, captains’ patches, sideline towels
and quarterback towels.
The officials wear caps with pink ribbons, pink
wristbands, pink pins, and they use pink
whistles. They also use pink coins for coin toss.
The coaches and managers wear pink hats and
they have pink ribbons on them
On the field they have pink goal post padding in
the end zones. And the field has the breast
cancer awareness symbol
Breast cancer takes the lives of over 250,000
people. The NFL donates money to breast
cancer awareness
The reason breast cancer awareness is so
important to the NFL is because they know
many women are diagnosed and killed every
year. They use the money donated from the
NFL to help find a cure
For the 3rd straight year the Chicago Bears are recognizing
breast cancer awareness. Special "Real Bears Fans Wear
Pink" t-shirts have generated $80,000 in sales. Proceeds
support breast cancer research and treatment programs
in Chicago area. The Bears also honored a breast cancer
survivor and worked with Zeta Tau Alpha(ΖΤΑ)to pass
out pink ribbons during the Sept. 28 game.
The Saints sponsor the local Susan G. Komen Race
for the Cure and LB Scott Fujita taped a PSA for
the race
All the teams in the NFL use the money they get
from their online shop in the month of October
and the money from the shop goes toward the
cure.
By learning about breast cancer awareness, and
how the NFL contributes maybe you could come
up with new ideas of how to help for research.
By us doing something about breast cancer along
with the NFL and the other foundations helping
with research and the cure we can find the cure
faster, and that is the point we are really trying to
get out
The goal of teaching you all this is to get people
involved for raising money to research. Also, to
show what the NFL does to contribute to research
and awareness. Finally, to show what the Bears
and Saints do.

cure”, stated by Carol
