SUMMARY
Cares for and treats patients in medical office, as directed by Physician, by performing the following
duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
After a 90 day introductory period employee is required to utilize and manipulate Greenway applications
in a fashion requested by the Administrator, Supervisor, and Partners to retain employment
Respond to tasks from Greenway’s Patient Portal
Works with all doctors and an assigned primary doctor as needed
Prepares patient for and assists with examinations.
Performs computer scheduling, follow-ups and referrals
Administers injections and medications, dresses wounds and incisions, interprets physician's instructions
to patients, assists with emergency and minor surgery, and performs related tasks as directed
Maintains records of vital statistics and other pertinent data of patients
Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment, and maintains stock of supplies and medications
Conducts specified laboratory tests
Screen/handle phone calls with regards to sick children, new patients, and parent education
Administer immunizations including IM, subQ and oral administration with physician order
Instruct patient/parent with nebulizer/inhaler treatments and dispense nebulizers
Monitor oxygen/suction setup and administer emergency drugs if ordered under the direction of a
physician
Sign immunization forms following proper parent release protocols and fills out any miscellaneous forms
and faxes
Stock exam room with supplies, including but not limited to paper towels, Kleenex, alcohol preps, forms,
etc... and notify administrator of any shortages
Carry out patient education at direction of physician
Assist with laboratory responsibilities when lab manager is busy or unavailable
Be respectful, courteous, and pleasant with staff, patients, and parents
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill,

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
State Registered Nurse license, a degree from a two, three or four year accredited program. At least one
year of actual practice, preferably in a clinical outpatient setting.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively
before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to document patient complaints, history
and vitals in a clear, concise manner.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and
volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or
diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
situations.
PROFICIENCY
Typing test proficiency required and must attain 30 words per minute
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have and maintain a current licensure as R.N. in the state of Iowa.
