CALL FOR PAPERS London, UK FQAS 2017 Flexible Query Answering Systems FQAS 2017 is the 12th premier international conference focusing on the key issue in the information society of providing easy, flexible, and intuitive access to information to everybody. In targeting this issue, the conference draws on several research areas, such as information retrieval, database management, big data, information filtering, knowledge representation, knowledge discovery, analytics, soft computing, management of multimedia information, and human-computer interaction. The guiding topic of the FQAS conferences are innovative query systems aimed at providing easy, flexible and human-friendly access to information. Such systems are becoming increasingly important also due to the huge and always growing number of users as well as the growing amount of available information. Thus, the works related to the concepts of big data, data streams querying etc. are very welcome. The conference provides a unique opportunity for researchers, developers and practitioners to explore new ideas and approaches in a multidisciplinary forum of the representatives of all mentioned research areas. TOPICS OF INTEREST We invite submission of original research contributions, and proposals for invited sessions, panels, and tutorials. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following in the context of intelligent information access and/or flexible query answering systems: • Flexible question answering systems • Context-awareness in query • Privacy preserving Querying Answering interpretation • Human-Computer Interaction • Multimodal, Spoken and Multimedia • User interfaces and data visualization query answering • Search engines • Mobile information access systems • Summarization of search results • Ambient information access systems • Social Media • Semantic Web • Cloud Computing and Cloud Information Access • Data Science and big data • Knowledge Discovery • Collaborative information management • Multimedia information Management • Approximate reasoning models • Business Analytics • Soft Computing • Information Retrieval, Extraction and • Fuzzy sets, Logic and Probabilistic Fusion models • Text and data mining • Imperfection/uncertainty management Knowledge representation • • Belief/trust management • Ontologies • Description Logics Ontology based query answering • • Knowledge fusion from multilingual sources • Database management Multilingual text categorization Cross language querying and retrieval • • • Multilingual information extraction • Semantic query expansion Domain and User Context Modelling • Multilingual QA systems • University of Westminster June 21-22, 2017 IMPORTANT DATES Paper Submission JAN 25, 2017 Notification MAR 1, 2017 Final Paper Due APR 1, 2017 Conference Date JUN 21 – 22, 2017 COMMITTEES Steering Committee TROELS ANDREASEN DENMARK HENNING CHRISTIANSEN DENMARK HENRIK LEGIND LARSEN DENMARK General Co-chairs HENNING CHRISTIANSEN DENMARK PANAGIOTIS CHOUNTAS UNITED KINGDOM Program Co-chairs HÉLÈNE JAUDOIN FRANCE HENNING CHRISTIANSEN DENMARK http://fqas-2017.org All accepted papers will be published by Springer-Verlag in their Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) series.
