Medical Oncology specializes in diagnosing and treating cancer using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and biological therapy. Medical Oncology services are available in Mount Vernon as well as through our satellite cancer care center at Cascade Valley Hospital in Arlington. Your Team Our team works collaboratively to best treat your cancer and is comprised of the following specialists: Highly trained and board certified oncologists to manage your care every step of the way. Nursing Staff Our nursing staff provides compassion and education during your treatment. Our Medical Assistants are also available to coordinate access to your physician or other appropriate provider. Social Worker Provides counseling, psychosocial services, and access to community resources which can reduce stress for you and your family through all phases of care. Patient Navigator Provides assistance with coordination of care between your providers, clarifies the next steps in your treatment, and directs you to trusted resources for additional support. Dietitian Available to offer nutritional guidance and dietary recommendations that can help ensure maintenance of strength and energy and help promote healing. We want to assure that we have time to address your questions and concerns. • Bring your completed patient assessment form (you will receive from us), and your current insurance cards. • If you are visiting Radiation Oncology, please wear comfortable clothing that you can change into and out of easily. Many times you may have your simulation done directly following your consultation with the physician. The purpose of a simulation is to position you as we would for treatment in order to precisely measure, mark and image the area we will be treating.
