One of two DBA’s on the Day 2 Migration team for Marathon Petroleum supporting Oracle 9i,
10g and 11g as well as SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008
Duties include the migration off of Marathon Oil Company servers to Marathon Petroleum
Servers.
Upgrade of most SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 databases to SQL 2008. Some databases were unable
to be migrated and moved as is.
Migration of SSIS servers to new servers for Marathon Petroleum
Installation and configuration of Windows 2003 and 2008 servers as well as DHCP
Moving Oracle 9i and 10g databases and converting them to Oracle 11g on new servers in
development, test and production where applicable
Troubleshoot performance issues with newly converted/migrated databases in both SQL Server
and Oracle
Set up RMAN and Data Pump jobs for backup and recovery of Oracle databases as well as
scheduling statistics and index rebuilds.
Installation of patches and bug fixes for Oracle and SQL Server instances.

POWERGADS, Fuelworx, Zainet, Fixed Assets Systems, Kronos/Ceredian and Peoplesoft to
name a few.
Daily support and maintenance of the Oracle 9i and 10g environments as well as SQL Server
