individual notes or sounds in different ways:
LEGATO – playing notes in a long, smooth way, shown by a SLUR
STACCATO – playing notes in a short, detached, spiky way shown with a DOT either over or
under the musical note.
Add SLURS to the notes shown in boxes to show LEGATO articulation and DOTS over the notes
shown in circles to show STACCATO articulation on the music below.
