TYPES MECHANICAL Water seeps into cracks of rock. Freezes and expands further cracking and causing the rock to crumble and fall away. Roots from trees and plants grow in between rocks and split and crumble them. CHEMICAL Acidic properties from soil or other places mixes with water and eats/dissolves rock.
