FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE For more information, contact: Jodie English, Director of Sales Eureka Springs’ Landmark Hotels 75 Prospect Avenue Eureka Springs, Arkansas 72632 479-253-9766x510 _________________________ Hotel Sales Veteran Joins Eureka Springs Landmark Hotels’ Team (EUREKA SPRINGS, AR) – Jodie English, a 20-year-veteran of the hospitality industry, recently joined the sales team of The 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa and The 1905 Basin Park Hotel as the director of sales. Jack Moyer, vice-president of operations and development for the two hotels, made the announcement. “When the opportunity arose for a new director of sales we decided it was time to take our sales department up to the top tier of convention, meeting, and group sales. So we went out and recruited Jodie,” Moyer said, “because we knew that in the industry she was an ‘A-list’ director of sales. And, since many of her former hotels were historic in nature, we knew she had the knowledge to facilitate the perfect meeting to the perfect facility. This is increasingly important with the tremendous corporate growth in and around the 540 corridor.” English, the daughter of Tahlequah (OK) resident Mrs. Jean Deines, came to Eureka Springs from Kansas City (MO) where she served as director of sales and marketing for the Aladdin Hotel Downtown. Her other sales positions were at such properties and locations as Morrissey Hospitality, St. Paul (MN); Hotel Utica, Utica (NY); Coolfont Resort and Spa, Berkeley Springs (WV); Clarion Hotel Downtown Norfolk, Norfolk (VA); and Holiday Inn 1776, Williamsburg (VA). Her previous professional and personal associations also seem “custommade” for her new community. These affiliations include Lawrence Preservation Alliance (Board Member), Lawrence (KS); Downtown Utica Development Association (President), Landmarks Society of Greater Utica Area (Board Member), and The Genesis Group Ambassador Committee, Utica (NY); and Williamsburg Area Convention and Visitors Bureau chairing the Conference Sales Committee, Williamsburg Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and Williamsburg Hotel/Motel Association, Williamsburg (VA). Other professional memberships have included Empire State Society of Association Executives, Society of Government Meeting Planners, Meeting Planners International, Hotel Sales and Marketing Association, Virginia Society of Association Executives, Greater Washington Society of Association Executives, and Industry Group Tour Associations (ABA, NTA, PBA, NCBA, OMCA, VBA). English reflected on her new home and new employer, “It was destiny that brought me to the community of Eureka Springs and these two well-respected historic properties. At the age of 22 a group of friends and I traveled to Eureka Springs from our home in Kansas for a mini-vacation. I instantly fell in love with this town. As we ascended to the top of The Crescent Hotel and had our picture made upon its overlook I told my friends, ‘Someday I will return to Eureka Springs and work for this hotel.’ That day has come.” For more information, one may contact English by telephone at 800-9034940 or via email at [email protected] . -30-
