TheOregonGolfAssociation(OGA)–formedin1924toconducttheOregonAmateurGolfChampionship
whichincludedbothmenandwomen,theOGAisa501(c)(6)non-profitamateurgolfassociationgovernedby
volunteeramateurgolfersthatmakeupitsBoardofDirectorsandthatemploysafull-timeprofessionalstaff
ofninepeople.Today,theOGAhasgrownintoanentityofmorethan270publicandprivateclubsnumbering
approximately41,000membersthroughoutOregonandSWWashingtonandisuniqueinthatitsmembership
iscomprisedofalldemographicsincludingmen,women,seniors,juniors,andprivateandpublicgolfers.With
avastarrayofprogramsforitsmembers,theOGAprovidesaUSGAHandicapIndexforeachmemberthrough
itslicensedmemberclubs,provideseducationontheRulesofGolfandrunsanassortmentofcompetitions,
includingtherunningof13statechampionships,USGAqualifiersandothereventsforallagesandskilllevels.

ReportsTo:ChiefExecutiveOfficer
JobSummary:Overseesallmarketing,communicationsandpublicrelationsactivitiesoftheorganization,
guidesdirectionoforganizationthroughbrandprojections,includingallexternalmessaging,marketingand
departmentalcommunications,andprovidessupporttoallotherdepartmentsoftheAssociation.Manages
staffoftwo.
SpecificResponsibilities:
Marketing/Sales/Partnerships:
•Developoverallmarketingplans,objectivesandprioritiesforAssociationandoverseebudget
•Managetradeshowandeventscheduleincludingplanningandlogistics
•Coordinatethewriting,editinganddesignofallcommunicationsincludingoutreachmaterials,enewsletters,publishedreportsandotherprintedmaterialspromotingtheAssociation
•Managesadvertisingcampaignsandmarketingpartnerships
•WorkwithCEOinthedevelopment,acquisitionandimplementationofstrategicpartnershipprogramsto
developalternativerevenuestreams
Communications/MediaRelations:
•Coordinateallmediarelationsandpressrelatedneedsincludingpitching,releasewritingandtrackingof
coverage
•Cultivatemediarelationshipsandmaintainupdatedmailinglists
•Collaboratewithdepartmentheadsoneditorialcontentforstories
•Eventphotography
•CompilecontentforGolfOregoninsertofPacificNorthwestGolfermagazine
•AssistwithpreparationofdepartmentalcommunicationssuchasDirectorsandHandicapChairmanuals,
Championshipmanuals,brochures,fliers,posters,etc.
•OverseemanagementofnewsreleasespertainingtoallAssociationnewsworthyactivitieswithother
departments.Developmediarelationshipsandcultivatecoverage
•Serveasprimarycommunicationsliaisontooutsideorganizations/businessesandalliedassociations
•ServeasliaisonwithPNGACommunicationsCommittee
•ServeasanOGArepresentativeontheGolfAllianceofOregon,servingasadefactoMarketingDirectorfor
OregonIndustrygroup
