INFORMATION FOR SUPPORTING WORKERS
The following information is intended for workers supporting young people
who are applying for any plans tonight funding from the Teenage Pregnancy
Partnership.
Signing off the application form as the supporting worker will be taken as
confirmation that you have read and understood this additional information.
Funding Information

We will consider applications as we receive them during the period
April 2014 to March 2015.

Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, up to
the maximum amount of funding available for this small grants scheme.

Applications can be made for up to £200 for one off activities and
events.

We will consider applications for up to £750 for more substantial pieces
of work.
Payment will be made in the following ways:
MCC groups / projects:
MCC internal transfer for which we will require a cost centre code
The Manchester College and other organisations on the list of approved
suppliers/vendors:
BACS transfer via purchase order and invoice
Voluntary Sector and Community Groups:
Cheque issued for which we will require the group/project account name.
Payments cannot be issued to individuals.

Funding Criteria
All applications will be considered against the following criteria (these are in
addition to the criteria stated in the application form);

The application should be for a new piece of work.

Your work practice should be informed by the ‘Information and Guidance
for Professionals’ for staff working with young people on relationships,
sex and sexual health (this is available to download from
www.anyplanstonight.co.uk)

The activity/event should target young people most at risk of early
parenthood.

The activity/event should focus on young people resident in an area of
the city identified as having a high under 18 conception rate

A direct link between the activity/event and teenage pregnancy
prevention should be clearly demonstrated

The activity/event should be linked to a relevant awareness day/week to
increase the potential impact.

The activity/event should involve at least one of the following;
 Increasing young people’s knowledge and awareness of sex,
relationships and sexual health
 Raising aspirations
 Increasing young people’s knowledge and awareness of sexual
health services
 Promoting the use of contraception and condoms, including the Ccard scheme
 Developing young people’s skills and confidence to make positive
choices in relation to their sexual health
 Increasing the knowledge of parents and / or carers to be able to
discuss sex, relationships and sexual health with their children

The Teenage Pregnancy Programme Manager can provide recent data and
further information about current priorities as well as recommendations
regarding appropriate resources and proven interventions.
The Sexual Health Team, Public Health Manchester reserve the right to make
the final decision regarding successful applications.
