Where is the cape Kaliakra
Kaliakra is long and narrow nose of the Bulgarian
northern Black Sea coast in the southeastern part of
the Dobrudja plateau. Located near the villages
Bulgarevo and St. Nicolas, 12 km from Kavarna and
60 km northeast of Varna. The nose is recessed 2 km
inward offshore and resembles a peninsula, a natural
and archeological reserve and one hundred tourist
site. .You can see the dolphins.

On the shore of the cape Kaliakra vertically is
descend to the sea cliffs, which are 70 meters
high The rocks are hard Sarmatian limestone
and conglomerates cemented with clay rich in
iron oxides which give a characteristic reddish
tinge .Priboynite waves have carved at the foot
their caves, niches, arches and reefs, which can
be reached only from the sea. Many underwater
rocks are the result of strong abrasion.

nature reserve in 1941

area of 687.5 hectares.
