IMPACT PROJECT
ESTABLISH COMMERCIAL TIES BETWEEN U.S. AND THE PACIFIC ALLIANCE
The U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration has selected the Duquesne
University Global Business Program SBDC with the MDCP award to increase U.S. export sales into the
Latin American Pacific Alliance countries of Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Peru. The four countries
signed free trade agreements with the U.S. and are the highest growth rates countries in Latin America.
The MDCP award is called the IMPACT Project. It is a 3-year project, that applies to any nationwide
company, any size and the only requirement is the "Made in USA" label. The focus industries are
infrastructure, construction, oil and gas, mining, power generation, petrochemical, water, transportation
equipment and engineering firms.
The IMPACT offers business consulting, market research and training seminars:

Matchmaking with Latin American businesses through the U.S. Commercial Service
“Gold Key” Program at the selected country.
May 21-24, 2017: Peru Trade Mission for the Water Industry.
June 5-7, 2017: Mexico Trade Mission for the Construction Industry.
September 18-22, 2017: Exhibit at the PERUMIN mining show in Peru.

Market research
There is no cost to join the IMPACT Project. Companies admitted to the project need to fill out the
Success Agreement form. The goal is to find customers, sales reps, agents and distributors.
The Duquesne University Global Business Program is managing the IMPACT Project in partnership with
SMC Business Council, the U.S. Commercial Service, PA. Department of Community & Economic
Development; Center for Trade Development, Southwestern PA Commission, RL Swearer Freight
