OIL, GAS AND MINERAL RIGHTS Dick Sadler, National Oil and Gas Manager, U.S. Trust My name is Dick Sadler, I am the national oil and gas manager for U.S. Trust. When I talk to people about getting an oil and gas asset, there’s a lot of things to managing this asset. Negotiating the lease is just a part of it. I’ve got a staff of 80 able bodied assistants that actually do a great job. We’ve got oil and gas professionals, petroleum engineers, geologist, and we manage about 106,000 interests around the country, in about 40 states. In a lot of cases these are inherited assets, they’ve been in the family for generations. Other times though, people can acquire this property and not realize they’re acquiring the mineral rights as well. Until an oil company shows up at their door wanting to lease. When somebody has these types of assets, to properly manage them, you need to have an engineering background, a land background, surface management background and also an accounting type background. Not too many people have all these. U.S. Trust does. I’ve been around this business all my life. I love it. It was tough to get me in this suit. Please see back page for important information.
