Mr. Drummond is the Principal Geologist with Specialty Earth Sciences, LLC and has 20
years of extensive and diverse technical experience in the hydrological, geological, and
environmental fields. Mr. Drummond has experience in groundwater and soil
remediation projects throughout Southern and Central California. His experience
includes preparation of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for diverse land uses
including agricultural, industrial, and commercial sites. He has also completed Phase II
soil and groundwater investigations of properties with petroleum hydrocarbons,
polychlorinated biphenyls, metals, and chlorinated solvent impacts. He has supervised
and completed numerous soil and groundwater investigations with local, state, and US
EPA oversight. Mr. Drummond has also designed and directly supervised the
construction, installation, and startup of numerous soil vapor extraction and pump and
treat systems.

RELEVANT PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Seasonal Aquifer Storage Potential, Metropolitan Water District, California – Field
Hydrogeologist in the Mojave Desert investigating several desert basins along the
Colorado River Aqueduct for the potential for seasonal aquifer water storage.
Investigation included infiltration tests as well as locating and measuring groundwater
levels in desert monitoring wells. Analysis of each desert basin also included preparation
of cross-sections, drainage basin analysis and geologic interpretation of stratigraphic
units and faults.
Catellus Development Corporation, California – Field Hydrogeologist for the drilling
and installation of 12-inch groundwater monitoring and production wells in the Mojave
Desert. Wells were drilled with mud rotary drilling process and were in excess of 2,000
feet deep. Following the drilling of wells down-hole geophysics was conducted for
optimum screen placement and lithology interpretation. Following well development, a
pump test was conducted to establish well yields and pertinent hydrogeologic
parameters.
United States Geological Survey, San Diego, California - Assisted with the compilation
of studies for Ventura Basin Groundwater Model and Applied Borehole Geophysics.
Conducted groundwater monitoring and sampling in the Los Angeles Forebay for the
Water Replenishment District (WRD). Assisted with the drilling and installation of three
deep groundwater monitoring wells nested to varying depths to 1,200 feet in the Los
Angeles Basin to assess water quality of the aquifers in both the San Pedro and Lakewood
Formations. Used boring logs to update and further differentiate cross-sections in
California Department of Water Resources Bulletin 104.
Property Development Corporation – California – Project manager during installation
of twenty-six triple nested soil vapor extraction wells and multiple groundwater
monitoring wells and piezometers. Creation of 2 and 3-dimensional models of site using
information gathered during well installation process and laboratory data for client
presentation showing areas and volume of impact. Site investigations included
conducting a membrane interface probe (MIP) assessment, soil vapor survey, and soil
vapor intrusion investigation. Permanganate was delivered to subsurface groundwater
utilizing ten triple nested injection wells in order to inject oxidant to each remedial zone.
Huntington Beach Union High School District, California - Project Geologist for the
preparation and implementation of Preliminary Endangerment Assessments (PEA) at two

high schools with Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC) oversight. Prepared
workplans for soil and soil vapor sampling. Provided oversight of groundwater
monitoring and reporting. Conducted and evaluated slug tests in onsite groundwater
monitoring wells for transmissivity and hydraulic conductivity evaluation.
Caltrans, California – Project Manager for several Caltrans freeway expansion projects.
Projects included soil and groundwater investigations along state and federal highways
and adjacent properties. Goals of the project were to delineate impacts to soil along
highways for the presence of aerially deposited lead (ADL) as of a result of leaded fuel.
Investigations included statistical analysis of laboratory results to characterize shallow
soils for proper disposal as hazardous waste. Adjacent property investigations included
a former brewery in Los Angeles with soil and groundwater impacted by petroleum
hydrocarbons, chromium, lead, and chlorinated solvents.
Claremont School District, California – Involved with the preparation and
implementation of a Preliminary Endangerment Assessment (PEA) with Department of
Toxic Substance Control (DTSC) oversight. Field geologist during agricultural soil
sampling with onsite evaluation of procedures and protocol by the DTSC. Prepared site
Health and Safety plan.
Tesoro Petroleum, California – Involved with design implementation and supervision
of soil vapor extraction systems and pump and treat system for several former gas station
properties. Managed quarterly groundwater monitoring and reporting. Managed and
supervised remedial system’s operation and maintenance and progress reporting.
Supervised and evaluated collection of influent soil vapor and groundwater samples for
compliance with South Coast Air Quality Management District and National Pollutant
Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits. Conducted and evaluated pump tests
for extraction well capture zones. Conducted and evaluated slug tests to determine
hydraulic conductivity and transmissivity. Supervised the installation of groundwater
monitoring, groundwater extraction, and soil vapor extraction wells.
Well Head Protect Program, Arizona – Field Geologist for a Well Head Protection
Program in the State of Arizona. Responsibilities included locating all active rural
drinking water wells in the Mohave County. Each active well was located with a global
positioning system (GPS). In addition, all possible point sources of contamination to the
well within a radius of one quarter mile was also located, documented, and positioned.
