Primary Purpose of Role (In one sentence - why does the role exist?)
The Sr. Material Planner is responsible for key Material Planning responsibilities: managing
activities related to timely and accurate procurement and delivery of production components as well
as Dry goods obsolesce identification, DAL routing & tracking/reporting, Material Planning Metrics
creation & tracking/reporting as a feed into Supply IBP, Material Planning lead liaison with IT &
Master Data on driving system integration set up and continuous improvement, Growing VMI
(Vendor Managed Inventory) initiatives and representation in the Supplier Monthly Business Review
process, standardization of processes, and reporting for material planning activity.

Provide Material Planning Metrics & tracking/reporting as a feed into the IBP Supply Review
Provide impact analysis on NPD launch dates for dry goods obsolescence
Support Category Managers for Supplier Quarterly review with Quality and Delivery
Performance analysis
Act as Material Planning lead liaison with IT & Master Data on driving system integration set
up and continuous improvement.
Develop and drive growing VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) initiatives.
Represent Materials Planning in the Supplier Monthly Business Review process,
standardization of processes, and reporting for material planning activity.
Using automated computer planning and scheduling systems (i.e. JDE, ERP), manage
Materials Requirement Plan (MRP) Product and Bill of Material Master Data, as well as any
other supplier related master data
Develop Service Level Agreements with key suppliers, and managing and measuring
performance versus those SLA.
Participate in monthly Supplier Delivery Performance and root cause analysis. Escalate
performance issues to Category Managers when appropriate.
Provide input and support Category Managers for Supplier Quarterly review with Quality
Develop 12 month Materials Plan in support of the Master Plan
Measure and manage Supplier Lead Times
Monitor material usage / scrap factors and make system changes when necessary
Re plan weeks in response to any MPS changes and/or supplier delivery updates
Attend the weekly MPS meeting to validate material availability across the planning horizon
Manage open purchase orders for due dates and quantities open for delivery.
Ensure materials delivery 48 hours prior to production. Communicate risks when
appropriate.
Own safety stock calculations for commodities managed as well as all other set up
parameters in planning system.
Maintain the JDE purchase order system with routine maintenance of revised, rescheduled
and/or obsolete purchase orders.
Develop and maintain supplier relationships that support company goals of improved
quality, excellent delivery and reduced cost

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related field
Advanced Excel Skills
APICS CPIM Certification preferred
Strong data analysis and reconciliation skills
