Primary Purpose of Role
Through development and management of strong supplier relationships, and management of efficient materials
planning processes and reporting, the Material Planning Manager will drive best in class supply chain practices.



Full ownership of the Material Planning processes, with collaboration from necessary stakeholders
Responsible for tracking direct material inventory accuracy in alignment with Global Inventory Policies,
as well as risk related to inventory write off on a monthly basis via IBP.
Responsible for the creation of, tracking and corrective actions related to key Material Planning
performance metrics.
Responsible for development of strong supplier relationships in the areas of planning and forecasting
collaboration and optimization of supply chain efficiencies.
Drive coordinated process, quality and system related improvement plans with our suppliers






















Develop appropriate measure of supplier conformance to agreed planning rules and incorporate in
Supplier Performance Rating system
Responsible for the integrity of the data and parameters used to calculate the MRP in the ERP system.
Uses strong influencing skills to drive meeting project deadlines and savings targets
Liaise with internal stakeholders to develop an understanding of quality, product and service requirements
in development of supplier partnerships
Responsible for setting supplier SLA’s based on stakeholder aligned business needs.
Support vendor evaluation/s and selection process, relative to cost and compliancy to Company standards
Ensure goods and services are sourced using correct protocols and procedures that ensure a transparent
and ethical process has been undertaken
To become generally knowledgeable and aware of all other Business contracts/agreements and current
status so as to provide high level input and/or cover as may be required.
Monitoring and setting inventory levels based from planning schedules, consumption and SS levels.
Establishing SOPs for scrap, obsolescence, PO processes and the delivery of materials in accordance
with MRP System and MPS – Master Production Schedule.
Establish SOPs and scripts to maintain the item master and BOM data integrity in JDE.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for JDE secondary procurement practices in
accordance with JDE MRP Systems.
Demonstrate leadership and coaching capabilities
Identify and drive process improvements with the procurement group and bottling sites.
Work with the Commodity Managers to prioritize the work at hand relative to assigning part numbers,
standard cost and other data related to item master data.
Assist in developing and implementing policy for maintaining the integrity of master data in JDE.
Responsible for the setup of BOMS in the MRP - JDE System.
Reviewing BOM data to ensure the accuracy.
Expedite all materials for repacks and secondary production including corrugate, labels, shrink sleeves,
tissue and capsules. Set up new items in JDE as needed including freezing cost.
Create/maintain desk procedures for buyer/planners to include month end close routines, purchase
order maintenance, lead time reviews, etc..
Meet regularly with the Category Managers, Material Planners and others as required.
Work on special projects as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree (BS/BBA) in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Business
Economics, or a related discipline
Expert in communication written and verbal
Excellent presentation skills
Ability to drive project teams and meet deadlines
7+ years relevant experience in a Materials Planning/Strategic Sourcing preferably
in an Food/beverage environment
Excellent conceptual understanding of Supply Chain activities and general
understanding of all business functions – Marketing, HR, Production, Sales,
Planning
Strong understanding of Procurement system/technology applications
Strong understanding of Financial Reporting
Strong ability to manage and deliver business process change and priorities
Excellent ability to liaise and influence stakeholders
Operational, logistics, production experience
Strong project management skills and a track record of delivering against targets
Change management experience
Consulting experience preferred but not essential
Ability to think both analytically, subjectively and demonstrated successful decisionmaking ability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills with careful attention to detail.
Ability to listen well, process information and perform multiple tasks.


Ability to prioritize a diverse workload, deal with multiple deadlines and honor time
specific lead-times for each packaging commodity relative to QA, Marketing,
Operations and Supplier requirements.
