Print & Conversion Manager Job Purpose: Achievement of gne’s production targets in Sheet both in envelope numbers and machine efficiency. Achievement of on time delivery of product, within budgeted wage cost and gross margin levels. Full control and responsibility of ensuring product quality is reached within Sheet/Print. Key Contacts/Working Relationships: Reporting to the Operations Director. Direct line management for all Sheet division employees (see Personnel Supervised). Job Holder Responsibilities: Attainment of daily targets for sheet – envelope numbers & efficiency % target Responsible for the quality of product & the maintenance of ISO9001 quality procedure Resolution of production issues & queries Input & collation of wage information for Payroll Aiding the planning for the maintenance required on the machines. Planning of manning lists, holidays & shift cover Management of all direct employees including appraisal, meetings & disciplinary processes as required (including continued work on the internal Trainee Setter program for continued development of our staff) Ensuring the Sheet Division operates within all Health & Safety & ISO 14001 guidelines Managing the Komori press to ISO12647 guidelines for CMYK work Ensuring all PPE is worn & safe working environment maintained Financial Dimensions: Authorisation of overtime in liaison with the Operations Director. Ordering of Punch Knives, tooling, foils etc. Decision Making Authority: Day to day decision making within the Sheet Division Personnel Supervised: Direct Supervision: 36 Employees (Komori Printers, Jogger/Print Assistant Operatives, Punch Operatives, Sheet Setters, Trainee Sheet Setters & Machine Assistants) Qualifications: Essential Skills/Qualifications: Experience of running and managing a large format printing press / print division is essential Experience in man management of a multitude of employees across shift work is essential Detailed knowledge & experience of Litho & Flexo printing processes is essential Detailed knowledge of envelope/print conversion in sheet formats is essential Experience planning and delivering mechanical and Engineering Management program Preferred Qualifications: Educated in degree (or equivalent) level with Business, Management & Printing associations Job Specific Skills: Major Challenges: Excellent man-management, planning, problem solving, flexibility & target attainment Strong focus on quality & discipline Detailed 4 colour or litho print experience 1. Delivery of budget performance in envelope numbers, on time & to a high standard of quality 2. Maintaining a culture of quality & discipline on shop floor 3. Planning the maintenance & upkeep of the varied range of machinery whilst in keeping with point 1 4. Reacting & resolving issues caused naturally in the extremely fast-paced industry to remain flexible & competitive 5. Improve quality 6. Reduce waste levels Accreditation & Licensing: N/A Behavioural Competencies: This role requires a professional, highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills & experience of dealing with people at a variety of levels.
