Pony Club Association Of Victoria PCAV NCAS Level 1 Coaching Enrolment Pre-Requisites Candidates must be aged 18 and over on completion of the course Candidates must be a current financial member of a Pony Club Affiliated through their State Pony Club Association, with the Australian Pony Club Council Candidates must have attended an Orientation to Pony Club and Coaching Course and completed a minimum of six months’ coaching experience in Pony Club Candidates must have a knowledge of riding and horse management to C Level Pony Club and read the relevant reference material Candidates must hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate from a recognised authority Candidates must agree to accept the Australian Pony Club Council Inc. (APCC) Code of Ethics Agreement and sign the Agreement prior to NCAS Pony Club Accreditation Attendance Requirements This course is designed for coaches instructing at: Pony Club C Certificate level and above Candidates are expected to attend an NCAS Pony Club Level 1 Course (32 hours total) with 100% attendance Units not completed may be taken at a later course. Recognition will be given for units already completed Candidate Assessment All parts of the NCAS Pony Club Level 1 Syllabus will be subject to assessment: Syllabus Log Book Each section of the completed Syllabus Log Book, which will include an assessment of the candidate’s ability during demonstrations, will be signed by a mentor coach or recognised supervisor Practical Applicants will be assessed by two qualified Officials while coaching C Level Pony Club members on the flat and over jumps, either at their own Pony Club or by special arrangement with the State Association Theory A short, written examination at C level will be conducted Sport & Recreation Victoria
