Text Training Re-Teach Supplemental Material: Level Two, Unit One
P1: Nouns and Verbs
A verb or noun is highlighted in a sentence and students have to sort it (ID it) as a verb or noun.
*Use Supplemental Practice Activity 1 (still would use the direct teach in the re-teach unit, but
would use these student pages).
P2: Action and Linking Verbs
Given an action verb (not in a sentence e.g. “is”(linking) vs. “jump” action

P3: Singular and Plural Nouns
Given the singular and plural option of a noun to make the sentence complete.

P4: Past and Present Tense Verbs *Teacher Course tab has this labeled as the 5th PA, but
under the course reports tab, this is labeled as P4. The Course Report Tab is accurate.
A verb is highlighted, and students click on “past tense” or “present tense”

P5: Pronouns
A sentence is given. Then students are asked in MC format a-c, to ID which word in the simple
sentence is a pronoun.

P6: Inflectional Endings
Students are given a sentence where the verb is highlighted. Students then will drag the verb into
one of the three columns that is the root verb without an ending.
P7: Correcting Punctuation and Capitalization
Students are given a sentence. They have to identify the errors from the following options:
Capitalization (people’s name,) adding/omitting commas (in a series or between city/state,
months/dates), and adding periods.
