Power driving module for injectors using magnetoelectric technology. It features different driving modes and numerous advanced functions enabling it to adapt to most commercially available injectors. IPoD coil Injector Power Driver 1 The EFS 8532 driving system. IPoD coil is a magneto-electric injector The latest version offers all the features already available in the IPoD series 8232 to 8238 and 8427 as well as providing several exclusive advantages: • • • • • Double driving power supply: - one source programmable from 6 to 50V - one source programmable from 25 to 150V. Independent unit with internal pulse generator. Injection frequency of up to 5 injections per rev at 3000 rev/minute. Graphic interface to control all the injection parameters. Fully protected. 2 Overview Electronic rack The IPoD system is made up of: • an electronic driving rack • set-up and control software • connection cables The main screen of the XIPoD software displays the various parameters to be set. Software Drives any type of magneto-electric injector 3 Sofware You use a simple but elaborate software The xIPoD is the set-up and control software for the IPoD. 2 essential qualities set it apart: a simple intuitive display and an elaborate settings interface with numerous features. Depending on the type of IPoD used, only the relevant parameters are displayed. Previously saved set-ups can also be recalled. • A single xIPoD session will drive several IPoDs using the same RS485 link • Automatic detection of the types of IPoD present on the RS485 link (IPoD coil, 6-Channel IPoD coil, IPoD piezo) • Synchronization possible of all the parameters of the IPoDs present (if identical). 4 Software Control You can, with only one equipment, drive your whole range of injectors. Accurate Parameter adjustment is handled by means of specific software in real time. IPod COIL Fast You can test different types of injector without changing the IPoD. Repeatable There are no new adjustments to be made when you change an IPoD on a bench. 5 COMPLETELY • • • • • • The driving modes are derived preload phase from a basic cycle featuring all the boost phase necessary phases. pull-in phase holding phase discharge phase demagnetization phase YELLOW = Injection command BLUE = Injector voltage PINK = Injector current 6 Key features Complete injection PROGRAMMABLE YELLOW = Injection command BLUE = Injector voltage PINK = Injector current • • • End Of Travel (EOT) detection Capacity discharge simulated for the pull-in phase Programmable injector discharge voltage 7 a single device The IPoD Coil can generate any type of voltage or current to adapt to your needs. The numerous settings options provide you with maximum flexibility of use. Changing a parameter (Pull-in Voltage, for example) can be done during the injection, which allows immediatly to see the effect on the injection. You develop your injector by modifying your parameters in real time. internal generator The driving can be triggered either by • an external input • or by an internal pulse generator 8 Key features “eot” detection The EOT (End Of Travel) determines the complete opening of the electrovalve. The IPoD detects this instant by means of a variation in the current. A logic signal relays this information. You qualify your injector simply by measuring the EOT. 9 demagnetization function Delayed asynchronous command Synchronous demagnetizing current with single peak current (end of injection) 10 Key features You optimize the injector driving Synchronous demagnetizing current with chopped current (end of injection) Synchronous demagnetizing current with chopped current (delayed by 100 µs) 11 Asynchronous demagnetizing mode (external input). Single peak only. x5-7 input DEMAGNETIZATION No demagnetization 12 Key features Preload function You preload the coil for a fast response from the injector opening command. rising time function You offset the harness impedance by adjusting the rising time of the current in the injector. 13 Quality All the set-up parameters can be saved in a file, meaning that you can load an existing set-up at any time. Updating the internal IPoD software is simple using the serial link. The MONITORING connector enables the user to monitor several signals: • • • • EOT logic signal (TTL) COMINJ injection command signal (TTL) Current and voltage in the injector (± 10 V) Cursor.
