INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES WITH BLOODCONNECT About BloodConnect Launched on 1st April 2010, BloodConnect is a student’s initiative taken up by motivated students from IIT Delhi and the University of Delhi aimed to tackle the grim situation of blood in Delhi. It works to promote voluntary blood donation and to ensure that no person has to suffer due to shortage of blood. BloodConnect is a service, linking people who need blood and people who are willing to donate blood. About Internship Bloodconnect is seeking energetic, friendly and hardworking interns to assist our research and expansion units. The internship provides a unique opportunity of working at ground level to understand the situation of Blood donation and then to tackle it. Internship opportunities: Ground level research internship (required in all cities): You will have to find answers to the following questions: What are the problems faced by patients in regards to blood? (Classification can be done on the basis of patients economic background of patient, blood requirement, area where required, urgency of requirement) Is there a blood shortage? (Checks to be done on the adminsitrative side of analyzing shortage, supply over the past few years of hospitals, analyzing if shortage is season specific, blood group specific, etc) How do we tackle the problem in the city? How do we setup and start working?(Analyze what solutions are required- camps, helpline, transparency, etc. Figure out how do we implement the solution- contact colleges, mobilize youth, take corporate support, solve it from administrative side, etc) Other internship opportunities: Help setup a system for coordination between blood banks. The internship can be based on either improving the system (coding in php, drupal knowledge) or implementation of the system- would require being in touch with blood banks on a daily basis Online outreach based internship- Only for people with experience in video making, photoshop, coral draw, etc. Using the technical skills, increse the online outreach of BloodConnect. Internship duration – Any continuous period of one and half month in between 13th May 2013 to 20th July 2013. Location – Anywhere in India. You will be paid for ground level transportation involved while working for the cause. BloodConnect particularly aims at reducing blood shortage in the country. The interns are expected to commit themselves to the cause itself. The objective of the internship is to create a united effort in tackling the issue of blood shortage in the whole country. At the successful completion of the project, you will be entitled to a merit certificate of appreciation and excellence.
